Has blessed parents Kamala Devi and Ganga Ram Chandel Vansh Kshatriyas was devotees having faith in the might of the supreme i.e.
‘Narain'. They were meek, passionate, considerate for the poor who were in miserable conditions.
As a boy Jagjiwan Das Sahib could not get his school education in formal ways due to adverse circumstances of the period he belonged. But the mercy of the supreme and his reverence to the Satguru made him learned and competent in spiritual attainments. His father managed a teacher for his schooling and he tried his best to teach the boy various things but the teacher himself come to his resolution that he was just revising the lessons which certifies that the boy has already been taught those facts. During the course of his schooling he uttered the following lines:-
“So sain samarath hai in yah saaji banaya chim manh saaji sabai rachi leenha nahi bilamb lagayo re”
keerat sagar having heard the above lines his parents and the pundit ji became stunned and the guru declared that he was already aware of the facts.
At the very early age of six months only there occurred and incidence which was for more surprising. His mother got him sleep in the bed and went to kitchen for preparations Suddenly the shiva shakti descended and taking the boy in his lap, showed him fourteen lokas and put a teeka on the bright forehead of the blessed baby and disappeared. After a short while the mother came back and saw the black symbol on the forehead. She feared the black magic and started weeping bitterly. She wanted to wipe out the mark repeatedly but could not succeed. She felt consoled on the consoling advices of village women miracles became the normal happenings in the life of
Sain Jagjiwan Das Sahib.
The most revered satguru of sain jagjiwan das sahib, vishveshwar puri was inhabitant of Guru Sari Situated across the holy river in Gonda. As a matter of fact and bond of guru and disciple he stayed there for several months for deep knowledge. After getting the mandidale of his satguru ( spiritual teacher) he returned to this native village and his parents. He did his best to go under severe penance. But unfortunately the rude villages were not hospitable to sain jagjiwan das sahib and consequeully they hindered his worshipping and meditation. It resulted in his escape from them for the welfare of the mass. He choose a lonely and thick forest some miles away from sardoha now known as Kotwa Dham then called
Kotak-Van or Kot-Van. It was quite appropriate for penance but full of mild beasts. He devoted himself to the higher spiritual attainments fearlessly in the adverse circumstances with great skills. Besides it he helped his father as a son and often went to grazing spols for grazing the cattle owned by his father. Never the less he continued chanting ‘Satnaam’ without any negligence. Here also occurred some miraculous incidents that made him famous all over the locality. His fame spread over far and wide with no pains taking efforts.
Now as a demand of the social setup he was married with Moluh who herself was religious. They both lived together and continued their worshipping the almighty with full devotion. He never linked the life of recluse and never allured any one for the same. He said
